Sketches from Morocco: 13-Xauen: al-Makhazen square | Sep 21, 2008 posted by jaime
Going to the north, between Fez and Tetuán, Xauen is the nicest example of the ''white and blue'' villages characteristic of the northern Morocco (Rif), very close to the impressive mountains of the Atlas. Obviously, the ''blue'' cannot be seen in these pencil sketches, but I advance that my first oil contribution will be one from this beautiful city. All these Xauen sketches were made at the Medina (you know, the old, usually walled part of the city).
